The film ‘The power of one’ is a life changing film that people should watch. The director uses many Symbols to show the the audience, such as the Ostrich Bracelet,elephant and the chicken.

1S the director John G Avildsen used Many objects in the film “power of one’
E such as the Ostrich bracelet, and the elephant and the chicken
X The ostrich bracelet was represented by love. It was given to P.ks mother from his father when they fell in love and now P.ks mother gave it to P.k and then P.K gave it maria when they first fell in love
X avildsen did this well because it showed the strong love between the P.k and Maria.
X this combines well with the dialog “i'll come get you after i’ve graduated from school”
Y similarly, in the notebook movie, the notebook was showed the love between the two main characters

2S not only was the Bracelet a method used to engage the audience, but the elephant was too.
E the elephant was represented by the fear that P.K had when he was a kid.
X This made us understand that when P.K was fighting gibbon duma, he got knocked out, he had fear that he would not win this fight, he also had a flashback to the elephant when he was a kid.
X  this was a good method, that Avildsen used effectively to reminds us of his fear at the start of the movie
X This went  well with the sound effects of the elephant charging
Y this was also shown in the movie 12 years a slave, when the slaves were afraid of the men

3S  Another Symbol that they used was the chicken has hope
E this was used when P.k was at boarding school and was getting bullied by botha
X we realized this when pk was getting bullied of him being english, the chicken would scare the other bullies away.
X This was a good way that the director used to show hope in the movie.
X when Botha killed the Chicken, a furious in P.K went up the wall. So P.K pushed Botha and a flag when in his ass and everyone started to laugh.

this is an extremely engaging film with loads of camera shots, symbolism and loads more
This movie is a must watch for everyone
